"Images and activities from my childhood, as well as adult experience, fuel much of the content of my artwork.  Throughout the creative process I return to the best places I went as a child:  coloring; drawing dress designs; dressing and playing with my Barbie dolls; and knitting, crocheting and sewing.  I have always loved making things and feel the greatest satisfaction by making art.

I worked in the hand-knitting industry for many years, after studying clothing and textiles in college and silkscreen design in graduate school.  As a result, I employ different types of needlework and surface design in my work on paper, along with what I know and feel about color, texture and composition.

I also love type, words and language.  For some unexplained reason, a “tongue-in-cheek” reference of some sort almost always finds its way into my finished pieces.

All of these techniques combine with painted papers, a veritable mixing of media, and result in my collaged artwork. "
