WACH Travels: The Art, Craft and Cuisine of London

February 27 - March 4, 2023
London, United Kingdom

Dear Friend and Fellow Traveler,

We are pleased to invite you to travel to London with the Women’s Art Center of the Hamptons (WACH) February 27 to March 4, 2023 on our debut cultural tour.

This exciting five-day, curated, study getaway offers you a unique opportunity to visit the private art studios and homes of a number of distinguished collectors as well as groundbreaking exhibitions at some of London’s finest museums.  You won’t want to miss the AFRICA FASHION exhibit at the Victoria and Albert and you will be captivated by COLLECT 2023 which is hosted by the Crafts Council UK.  COLLECT is the leading international fair for contemporary craft and design, showcasing museum quality works created by living artists and artisans – in fact, many of the pieces you will see there were expressly commissioned by the FAIR.  The “Evening Standard” writes, “It’s THE fair for beautiful things made by some of the most exciting artists around, from the emerging to the iconic.”

Our hotel has been thoughtfully selected for its quiet setting and central location and our dining venues will include several Michelin-starred restaurants, including some with women at the helm, where you will be treated to unforgettable culinary adventures.

Our trip will be co-led by WENDY VAN DEUSEN, curator, artist, chef and now Director of WACH.  She is a seasoned traveler who has toured the art capitals of Europe and Asia, often in the company of world-renowned textile designer, author, and collector, Jack Lenor Larsen.  Wendy’s discerning eye for the extraordinary and unexpected in art, design and cuisine is unparalleled and having attended COLLECT by invitation of the British government in 2019, she will open to you behind the scenes access to the 2023 FAIR, an offer exclusive to WACH travelers.

And, second to none, tour leader extraordinaire, MATKO TOMIČIĆ, will show you London as you’ve never before seen it.  Matko has explored countless cultural hubs, artist studios and historic sites around the world and his extensive knowledge and insatiable curiosity always uncover the old, the new, and the in-between spaces – a trip with Matko is sure to be endlessly entertaining and forever remembered.

Please note that there is limited space on this personalized, special interest tour and there has already been considerable interest expressed by many of WACH’s friends.  As capacity will be reached quickly, we urge you to indicate your interest by emailing us at info@wachamptonsny.org no later than December 16.  We hope you will be able to join us and we look forward to hearing from you!

Yours truly,

Wendy Van Deusen, Director
Women's Art Center of the Hamptons
