“My work is rooted in the intimate observation of nature, translating its subtle, nonverbal essence into tangible forms and textures. Through organic patterns, I explore vulnerability and connection, applying them to materials like vellum, oil paint, linen, and wood. By puncturing, cutting, layering, and painting, I strive to capture moments of visual time and experience.
The large painting titled 3 belongs to a series of works created over 20 years ago. Following the birth of my daughter, I became deeply inspired by the shapes and forms found in trees, which led to a series of charcoal drawings called Organic Being. The 3 series, using charcoal, oil, and wax on linen, is closely connected to these early drawings. The number three, spelled the same as ‘tree’ in Norwegian, holds a special significance: it symbolizes body, mind, spirit, and creation.” Eva Faye
