Feast - A Still Life

Feast - A Still Life
August 29 - October 31, 2024
Opening reception August 29 | 5-7pm

Feast – A Still Life is a celebration of our daily fare.  Part ritual, part sustenance, and encompassing all our senses, food can stir our emotions and taste buds just as easily in art as in real life.  Feast features the works of Andrea Alvin, Monica Banks, Jerelyn Hanrahan, Shayna Leib, Edwina Lucas, Maryann Lucas, Nancy McIntyre, and Nadine Robbins.

The hyperrealistic oysters of Nadine Robbins make us long for summer days at a seafood shack with an ice-cold beer for a companion. The Vertical Pearls from Jerelyn Hanrahan make us think of jewels from oversized oysters. Nancy McIntyre’s paintings provide a sensory treat of enjoying a feast for the eyes in storefront restaurants and bake shops. Shayna Leib’s stunning sweets in glass make one look closely at their detail and then look again and again in sheer delight. The paintings of Andrea Alvin bring the simplicity and beauty of food into focus in brilliant color and composition. Monica Banks’ ceramic desserts symbolize moments, big and small. This exhibition presents an incredible group of artists who share a feast for both the eyes and the soul.

Feast - A Still Life is on view August 29 - October 31.  Please join us for the opening reception Thursday, August 29, 5-7pm.
