Infinite Woman I

Infinite Woman I
July 3 - August 3
Opening reception July 3, 5-7pm

Art knows no boundaries or timetables. One can walk through a museum and encounter works from the dawn of civilization or turn the pages of a book to experience the masterpieces of the Old Masters. Yet across the centuries, the dominant narrative has centered on the art of men.

Women’s art has always been present—powerful, courageous, and timeless. Across generations, women artists have followed their own paths of creativity and self-expression, often in the face of invisibility or obstacles.

This summer, the Women’s Art Center of the Hamptons (WACH) proudly presents Infinite Woman I & II, a two-part exhibition celebrating the enduring spirit of women in the arts. An opening reception for Infinite Woman I will be held at WACH on Thursday, July 3, 5-7pm.

Infinite Woman I will be on view July 3 – August 3, 2025, featuring the works of Dorian Goldman, Sue Ferguson Gussow, Patricia Schnall Gutirrez, Mimi Saltzman, Kiki Smith, and Susan Zises.

“Women have long been trailblazers in the arts—sometimes quietly, sometimes boldly,” says WACH Director Wendy Van Deusen. “With Infinite Woman, we pay homage to those who dared to let their artistic spirit shine.”

Through drawings, sculpture, and mixed media that reflect women’s lives—depictions of the body, garments, and the everyday—the exhibitions explore how women’s stories and creativity continue to thrive and resonate across time. Rooted in collective memory and shared experience, these works offer a powerful testament to the ongoing vitality of women’s art.
