Shades of Winter

February 21 - March 30, 2025
Opening reception Friday, February 21 | 5-7pm
Shades of Winter captures the quiet beauty and introspective mood of the winter season. Featuring a vivid mix of photography, textiles, paintings, and mixed media works, this exhibition highlights winter’s muted palette and calming atmosphere. This group exhibition showcases the artwork of Carolyn Conrad, Kathy Erteman, Eva Faye, Rhiannon Griego, and Kerry Sharkey-Miller. These artists employ a diverse range of media to reflect on the themes of stillness, transformation, and the intricate patterns and details found in nature.
“The winter season offers an expressive range of soft and subtle colors that invite us to explore new ways of looking at the world.” says WACH Director Wendy Van Deusen. “And through new ways of seeing, we broaden our horizons discovering beauty in simple forms and landscapes.” A thoughtful meditation on winter’s peaceful presence, this exhibition highlights the stark elegance of the season through a carefully curated selection of works—each evoking the quiet beauty of shape and form, reminding us to find and celebrate the artistry in our surroundings throughout the year.
Join us to embrace and celebrate the beauty of the winter season at our opening reception Friday, February 21, 5-7pm.
