Something Red!

Something Red!
November 22, 2025 - January 11, 2026
Opening reception: November 22 | 2-4pm
Artist conversation with Judi Harvest: December 6 | 1:30-3:30pm
This exhibition invites viewers to consider the many ways the color red — bold, subtle, symbolic, or barely there — shapes what we see and how we feel. Something Red! features the works of Stephanie Brody-Lederman, Judi Harvest, Hildy Maze, Cati Van Milders, and Amy Wickersham.
For centuries, red has carried powerful symbolic weight. It is a color that commands attention, whether as a vibrant field or the slightest accent. It can stand alone with conviction or operate in harmony with other hues, offering balance, intensity, or surprise. In Something Red!, each artist engages red differently, allowing us to celebrate the spectrum: its ability to heighten mood, embolden form, and spark joy.
The exhibition’s five artists demonstrate red’s range and expressive potential. Judi Harvest’s luminous glass sculptures — from plush pillows to ripe pomegranates — showcase red as an irresistible invitation to look closer. Stephanie Brody-Lederman offers poetic glimpses of landscapes, birds, and flowers, where touches of red reveal beauty in the everyday. Amy Wickersham uses acrylic paint with dyed silk to create translucent layers of color and texture. Cati Van Milders brings keen, empathetic observation to her portraits of people, where red adds nuance and attitude. The late Hildy Maze explores the emotional landscape through introspective figures who remind us of someone we might know, or of ourselves.
