May 9 - May 19, 2024
We are excited to invite you to join us for 10 days (May 9-May 19, 2024) on the WACH Travels tour: Paradise Revealed: The Art, Gardens, and Tastes of the South of France. During these glorious days we will visit the finest museums, sculpture gardens filled with the work of world-renowned artists and sculptors, and architectural gems. We will explore extraordinary spaces in Nice, Antibes, Arles, Menton, Vence, Les Taillades, with private visits of gardens and artists’ studios. The hotels have been specially selected for their beauty and comfort, and our dining experiences in Michelin-starred restaurants will provide culinary adventures you will savor and long remember.
Since the 1880s, artists have been coming to the south of France to paint paradise. You are now invited to experience paradise on this never-to-be-forgotten trip. Our first stop is Nice, with some of the finest gardens in southern France. Among the tour highlights will be a visit to the LUMA Foundation and Château La Coste with its many fabulous art installations, and we will be among the first to visit Eschaton - Anselm Kiefer Foundation in Barjac, on the site of an old silk factory. The nearly 100 acre foundation has outdoor art installations, underground chambers and a five-level concrete amphitheater. A visit to the atelier and homes of Johanna Staniszkis, an internationally known textile designer in both Bonnieux and Les Taillades, will make a lasting impression. Our last day will be spent at the Carmignac Foundation,, a private collection of modern and contemporary masters, located on a wine estate on the idyllic island of Porquerolles.
Matko Tomičić, our engaging and indefatigable tour guide, has led international tours for years, seeking out the most fascinating, breathtaking and unforgettable destinations both on and off the beaten path and this trip is filled with all of the above.
Our other extraordinary tour guide, Lanie Goodman, is an arts and travel writer based in the south of France. She is a frequent contributor to publications including Condé Nast Traveller, Departures and WSJ, and has authored books including Romantic French Homes and Moving Towards the Light: the Paints of Joseph Raffael.
